Mixed Media


This Project looks at Mixed Media which is a variety of media used to create a art piece or installation.


The use of mixed media began around 1912 when the cubist movement fronted by Pablo Picasso. Mixed media can be made of anything.

Mixed media can be often confuses with multi -media as they are both using combination of techniques to create a more interesting and diverse piece
The Tate has a simple explanation of what differences are shown below.


Mixed media vs. multi-media

What is the difference between mixed media and multi-media artworks? While both terms describe artworks that are made using a range of materials, multi-media is generally used to define an artwork that uses or includes a combination of electronic media, such as video, film, audio and computers.

Even though these images used mix media in photography in this project we can also look at video and interactive media which could be work viewed on  a electronic divorce or even a game of some sorts the brief is  very open just as long the theme memory is prevalent.


Interactive Media

interactive media  Interactive media engage the user and interact with him or her in a way that non-interactive media do not. Websites and video games are two common types of interactive media.
